Selection policy

Last updated: July 7, 2026

This policy explains how application files are reviewed, how candidates are matched with scholarships and placements, and what each decision means.

How matching works

Once a file is submitted, PolyGrants advisors review it and match it with scholarships and university placements offered by partner institutions. Matching considers, among other things: academic record, field of study, language skills, budget, and the criteria set by each institution or program.

Decisions

  • positive: the candidate obtains a scholarship or placement and receives instructions to accept it within a deadline;
  • waiting list: the file meets the requirements, but admission depends on whether a higher-ranked candidate accepts or declines; the candidate is informed within 5 business days;
  • not selected: the file was not successful, for example because all places were awarded, the criteria were not met, or the response came too late.

Ranking

When places are limited, candidates are ranked according to the strength and completeness of their file and the criteria of the program. The decisions of partner institutions are final.

No guarantee

Submitting a file does not guarantee a scholarship or a placement. PolyGrants presents files to its partner network and supports candidates, but admission decisions rest with the institutions and programs.
